See & Spray™ Ultimate - Ultimate Training & Team Work

Dec. 5 2024 News By Britt Sellard

Knowledge shared is knowledge squared.” Sorry for the math pun, but this saying is so true! When our most valuable resource, which is knowledge, is shared, the power of that knowledge is multiplied as it has a further reach or effect as it’s applied on a broader scale. Think of the ‘ripple effect’ on water, and how even just the smallest grain or seed of knowledge can expand and have a larger impact when it is shared.

American Implement’s Service Team has taken this theory and ran with it as there is a weekly ‘Technical Communicator’ call to go over any common issues being seen, things to be on the look-out for, and polling the team for help if someone is stumped on a job. This collaboration has strengthened our team and relationships and produced quicker resolutions.

Recently, 13 of our technicians representing multiple locations, along with two service managers, two central service support members and two John Deere representatives met under one roof to knowledge share and get hands on experience about one of the hottest technologies Deere is currently offering, See and SprayTM. Several customers have decided that upgrading their current compatible sprayers with this technology is their operation’s next right step. One can imagine with a 120-foot boom – how intense the installation is! With several of these installs in the future across our locations, this team decided to tackle one together to learn and share together, prepping them for doing their future installs themselves.

This truly served as the best hands-on training for our team by having two John Deere representatives there to answer any questions and show them best practices along the way. Thomas Yezek, Precision Upgrades Customer Support Planner, and Tony Mier, Territory Customer Support Manager, helped complete the install alongside the American Implement team.

Albert Waugh, one of American Implement’s Technical Communicators, said that this install usually takes 14 hours for an experienced technician from start to finish, and this team completed it in four as they were divided in three different groups, each responsible for a section of the boom. Albert was proud of the team for, “putting their heads down and getting it done.” Not only will this experience help the technicians present on future installations, but it also served as a great way for them to familiarize themselves with the overall system, components and operation to assist customers with any future repairs.

Way to collaborate American Implement Service Team!
